What to expect from Holistic Hoarding training workshops

Holistic Hoarding can work with your organisation to develop a bespoke training package that covers areas including an introduction to hoarding disorder, animal hoarding, the media portrayal of hoarding, hoarding & co-morbid diagnoses, hoarding as a tenancy management issue, and how to empower those who hoard.

The Trauma-Informed Approaches to Hoarding Disorder has been delivered to over 300 health and social care professionals across the UK, and has now been taken up by the Chartered Institute of Housing as part of their training provision.   The course is CPD-accredited and considers hoarding disorder in a holistic and therapeutic context, exploring alternatives to house clearances and eviction, and looking at the positives to buying into a new model of support for this incredibly complex and often misunderstood illness.  It is aimed at all those looking to expand their knowledge on hoarding, allowing the expertise of a variety of delegates from across all different fields to be channelled.

"I have received terrific feedback on the course, in particular on your understanding and knowledge of hoarding.  It is already having an impact on how delegates approach hoarding, and how they should look for prevention when spotting the early signs."   - Training Manager for Housing Plus.

"A highly knowledgeable trainer, incredibly passionate about her subject matter - an impressive trainer!  Kayley was willing to listen, encouraging group debates, and valuing our contributions.  Would highly recommend."  -Tenancy Enforcement Officer, United Welsh Housing Association.

"The training was excellently presented, informative and up to date with legislation.  Really enjoyable for a subject which can sometimes be quite daunting." Homeless Prevention Team, Flintshire County Council.

Holistic Hoarding offers competitive training rates.  Prices start from £65 per delegate for the Trauma-Informed Approaches Workshop.

The full day package for Housing Associations and Social Landlords includes a morning workshop & an afternoon developing organisational hoarding policies & procedures.  Please enquire for details.

We've gone digital! To cope with the changing demands of Covid-19, Holistic Hoarding is running an interactive webinar version of the course.  Book a two hour bite-size session, or half a day of selected topics that fit with your organisational needs.

Hoarding Policy & protocols

Housing providers are often faced with a conflict between tenancy governance and offering appropriate support to a vulnerable person. Holistic Hoarding can support local authorities to develop an organisational hoarding policy to complement the general tenancy agreements.

The policies are evidence-informed and draw on both the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act to ensure that housing providers can demonstrate and implement the necessary compliance with the statutory duties of this legislation alongside appropriate tenancy governance responsibilities.

Having a formal hoarding policy in place isn't just good practice - it is a chance to develop compassionate, clear and consistent strategies for complex hoarding cases.

Prices start from £100. We are currently offering 50% off policy writing when you book any of our training courses.

"I loved this course.  Kayley's empathy for those affected by hoarding did not waver once, and I think a little bit of her compassion passed onto each of us.  I have recommended this course to the whole housing department."  - Caerphilly Council Housing Officer

"Hoarding isn't about how much stuff someone has, it's about how they process those things."
