What to Expect

What to expect from Holistic Hoarding support sessions?

Once we have received a referral or you have made contact, we will aim to be in touch within a 48 hour period.  We want to be able to offer immediate interventions that engage with people at their time of crisis.

The first visit will incorporate an assessment of needs – this is led by the individual where you can outline what your goals are and let us know how we can best support you with this. This initial consultation is free of charge and can take place either at your home or at a neutral location in the community if you’d prefer.

The support package that follows will be tailored by you – from how often you’d like support, what your sessions could entail, and what your ultimate goals are.  Your progress can be monitored in a way that resonates with you, and can include photo diaries or de-clutttering journals to mark and celebrate your progress.

We can advise on suitable signposting if you have additional needs such as requiring support with budgeting and benefits, mental health issues, or housing options.  Our Therapeutic Caseworkers work across South Wales, providing much needed emotional encouragment to those who have a tendency to hoard. We will also provide advocacy as part of your support package should you need this.
