Holistic Hoarding is delighted to have partnered with Caerphilly County Borough Council's Supporting People Team since 2019, when the service was first commissioned as a pioneering one-year project. Initially funded for a single Therapeutic Caseworker to support people whose tenancies were at risk due to hoarding behaviours, the service has grown significantly in response to increasing demand and demonstrated outcomes.

Today, the project has expanded into a dedicated team of five specialist staff delivering support across the borough.The service provides direct therapeutic interventions with tenants to explore their relationship with possessions and address the underlying causes of hoarding behaviours. Alongside this, the team delivers Trauma-Informed Approaches Training to a wide range of professionals across the borough and works collaboratively with the Floating Support Team and partner organisations to ensure individuals are safe, supported, and able to sustain their tenancies.

The continued growth of the service reflects both the need for and value of specialist hoarding support within the community. Perhaps even more importantly, the high numbers of people seeking help demonstrate that hoarding behaviours are far more common than many peoplerealise.
